Not everything that shines is perfect. And not everything perfect has to shine. The beauty of the new Castel Sallegg bottle lies precisely in its fine irregularities: tiny bubbles, a unique hue, traces of a story that continues to live on. The glass tells of origin and transformation – a perfect imperfection.
Since 2022, all 750 ml wines have been bottled in 100% recycled glass. Castel Sallegg is the first winery in South Tyrol to take this path consistently. What makes the difference is not just the lighter weight, but the complete reuse of existing glass. Each sip of wine thus carries within it the idea of circularity and renewal.
Why is this step so important? Because most of the energy used in winemaking is not consumed in the vineyard or cellar, but in the packaging. And that is precisely where Castel Sallegg acts – at the point that truly matters. 100% recycling means no new raw materials, less energy during melting, and shorter transport routes thanks to a nearby glassworks. The result is a clearly reduced CO₂ footprint.
And there’s a benefit for guests and customers too: the bottles are lighter to carry, easier to handle in everyday life, and more sustainable in logistics. Those who enjoy Castel Sallegg wines become part of a mindset – one that respects nature and redefines elegance.
The bottle is therefore much more than a container. It is a statement and a promise: that true beauty lies not in flawless uniformity, but in character, individuality, and respect for the world around us.
