Pinot Noir

Alto Adige Pinot Nero, DOC

Bright ruby red, fruity, with elegant berry aromas, delicate spices, silky tannins, rich, and elegant.

The Pinot Noir glows ruby red, with a sparkle that derives from ideal hours of sunshine. It grows in the historic Preyhof vineyard on deep calcareous gravel soil and enjoys a comparatively cool microclimate on this, the best Pinot Noir site in Kaltern. That lends emphasis to the typical notes of cherry, redcurrant, and blueberry. Delicately spicy aromas carry the bouquet. The palate is round and juicy, with elegant, fine-grained tannins. The wine has a persistent finish.

Manual harvesting and selection of the grapes. Cold maceration (5 days) followed by fermentation and gentle pressing. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by ageing in barriques and tonneaux for 12 months. Assemblage after one year, bottling, and ageing in the bottle (minimum 6 months).
